About the Designer

Erin O’Brien has been designing and manufacturing in iron, concrete, wood and copper for over ten years. With her degree in Interior Design, attention to detail is her key to success. Erin O’Brien prides herself on fusing function and form. She is meticulous in proportionally scaling every detail in her works of art. All pieces are custom designed. All work is hand forged.

Erin focuses on all types of furniture: railings, beds, gates, fire screens, pot racks, and many other wrought iron accoutrements. The possibilities are endless.

Erin draws on simple timeless organic forms for inspiration. A linear fluid touch allows her to create a diversity of functional art. Untrained in formal methods of forged metal fabrication the artist has developed her own unique style. The true power in Erin’s artistry is her ability to harmonize the disparate elements of welded steel and organic forms into timeless and sophisticated sculpture.

“I had a desire to work three dimensionally at a young age. Studying interior design reinforced this concept. Visiting a blacksmith shop in 1996 sold me, instantly, on the fluid nature of metal. I traded my skills in drawing to learn hands on skills in metal. I love working with metal and fusing other elements to create a work of art.”
